Come to downtown Ocean Springs and see what is new at Kathleen’s Fiber Arts.
Kathleen’s has created a new “Hands On” back room, adding Weaving Looms for you to try your hand at weaving on a large variety of pre-warped looms.
Kathleen’s offers a wide variety of looms including; Lecleric, Schacht, Ashford, Mirrix and Beka at the present time as well as Weaving, Knitting & Crochet accessories.
And speaking of Weaving, Knitting & Crochet; check out all of the wonderful yarns in a multitude of luscious colors and textures with more coming in every day. Yarn Manufactures include; Henry’s Attic, Halcyon, Crystal Palace, Premier, Blue Ridge, Colinette, River Silk plus so many more.
Kathleen’s shop currently is a “Touchy Feely place” (Texture & Color) and her “Hands On” room is no different. This room is a place where you can comfortably sit and plan your project with all of the wonderful yarns as inspiration or just chat with others and discuss Kumihimo or crafts in general.
Also new, Kathleen’s has added a Library where you can check out Weaving, dying and Kumihimo books to view at your leisure.
Weaving classes will start in April and run for 2 hours per day once a week in 6-week increments. You will learn to plan your project, Measure yarn for it, Dress the loom, Weave it, (the fun part) Remove it from the loom, Tie the fringe, Wash, dry and steam press it Walk out the door as the proud artist / owner.
You will have the knowledge to plan and finish your next project with this basic training.
